鹽霧試驗是一種利用鹽霧試驗設備所創造的人工模擬鹽霧環境條件來確認產品或金屬材料耐腐蝕性能的環境試驗。試驗的嚴苛程度取決于曝露持續時間。
實驗室常用的測試標準：GB/T 2423.17，IEC60068-2-11,GB/T 10125，ISO 9227，ISO4628-3, ASTM B117, JIS-Z2371, JIS-G3141, GJB 150.1, MIL-STD-810F, MIL-STD-883E等。
實驗室模擬鹽霧可以分為三類：中性鹽霧試驗、醋酸鹽霧試驗、銅鹽加速醋酸鹽霧試驗。
金屬材料檢測范圍涉及對黑色金屬、有色金屬、鑄件、機械設備及零部件等的機械性能測試、化學成分分析、金相分析、精密尺寸測量、無損探傷、耐腐
和環境模擬測試等。
實驗室配備有直讀光譜儀 (OES)、高頻電感耦合等離子發射光譜儀 (ICP-AES)、原子吸收光譜儀 (AAS)、三元坐標測量儀(CMM)、移動式直讀光譜儀 (P
相顯微鏡、XRF熒光、、氮氧儀、碳硫儀、循環耐腐蝕試驗箱、拉力機、沖擊試驗機、布氏硬度計、全洛氏硬度計、維氏硬度計、顯微硬度計、電腦庫侖
儀、分光光度計等各類試驗儀器。
